Santa and Christmas lights!

Wednesday was our ward Christmas Party. Brevan was so excited to see Santa Claus! Last year, he cried and cried, so I didn't know what to expect this year! When Santa came on the stage, we all of a sudden lost Brevan in a rush of kids trying to get in line! We looked all over for him and couldn't see him or Sydney! I was talking to someone, when I looked on stage, and Brevan was standing right by the door patiently waiting his turn! He must of butted in line and made his way up there, because we were at the end of the line! But, we ended up finding Sydney coming back out of the line and wanting nothing to do with Santa! That was fine, we just let her look. Brevan went right up to him, sat on his lap, and proceeded with his list of things he wanted for Christmas (Big Lightning McQueen, Big teddy bear, and 2 puppy dogs-not real)! It was quite funny! We had a good time and I am glad he isn't afraid this year, because the other 2 kids are scared to death!
I don't know how many of you watch Good Things Utah, but my sister in laws watched it and told me about a light contest they were doing. I don't know how many of you have seen my parents house at Christmas, but I just knew we needed to enter them. The grand prize was a trip for 4 to Disneyland, plane tickets, hotel stay at a resort at the park, and hopper passes. Well, my mom, Taylor, and I decided to go up north today, so we left Brett with the responsibility of watching and seeing who won. Well, he called me at about 11 o'clock. I answered the phone and he said to me," guess who won!" I thought he was joking, so I just asked if it was my mom. He said yes! I really thought he was just kidding! But, he wasn't. My parents won the contest and the trip! So yeah! We are excited for them! My dad works hard putting up lights starting in October. He says that Christmas morning lasts for thirty minutes, but he gets to enjoy Christmas lights for 30 days! So here are some pics of their house for you all to enjoy! The pics do not do the house justice. I was trying to hurry so I could get the posted before the deadline!

Yelling...

So, the other day we were on our way home from Grandma and Grandpa's house. Brevan was yelling something at me, as usual. I turned around and told him, "you do not need to yell at us!" He looked at me, and with all seriousness replied, "I wasn't yelling at dad!" Needless to say, Brett and I busted up laughing, and Brevan started laughing because we were. It was quite funny! I'm glad he gives us something to laugh about in his times of getting in trouble!

Happy Birthday, Sydney!

I can't believe my little girl is 2 years old today! How the time has flown by! She is the sweetest little girl, and I can't imagine our lives without her in it. Here are 10 things I love about Sydney!1. She makes us laugh all the time!
2. She has the cutest little laugh and giggle! It makes you want to laugh more!
3. When she runs, it is so adorable. She looks like she is going to trip because her feet are running faster than her body can keep up! It is just so cute that it makes you laugh once again!
4. She loves to dance! She has since she was 7 or 8 months old! It is so adorable! You just can't help but dance with her!!
5. She can play by herself and enjoy it. This gives me free time!
6. She loves her shoes. Shoe was her first word! She's a girl after my heart! haha...
7. She loves her butterfly blanket, and can't go to bed without it. She drags it around every morning until she is ready for the day. Then she can let it go until bedtime! It is just cute!
8. She loves Madisyn and Brevan to pieces! She loves to give hugs and kisses to them! She wakes up every morning, says "sis" and has to give Madi kisses! It is so cute!
9. She growls like a bear! It makes us laugh so much! We call her Sydney Bear!
10. She has the most precious smile! When she smiles, her big brown eyes light up and it makes us all feel so much better! She is such a sweet girl and we love her so much!
Here are some pics of our Sweet Sydney Bear! Sorry for the picture overload!

Twilight!

So I finally saw the movie. I said to Brett when I got home that I liked it, but I didn't like it. Does that make sense? I really did like it, I just wish they would have kept more to the book. I think there were a lot of scenes they left out that were kind of important turning points in the book. What do you guys that have seen it think. Here are the things I wish they would have put in.
1. The accident part as it actually went down in the parking lot. When she hit her head and then he removed the dent from the truck. He didn't really run off.
2. The blood typing in biology where she fainted. She later told Edward as they were leaving that she really could smell the blood and that was why she fainted.
3. How she was going to go to Seattle, but ended up staying the day with him in the meadow, not how they portrayed the meadow.
4. I don't remember Jasper being sooooo serious and looking so freaky looking. I thought that it was a little too much on his part.
5. I don't remember Edward being depressed the whole book. In the movie it seemed like he was on the verge of tears half of it.
Anyways... I did like the movie, and I am glad it is finally out. I can't wait for the 2nd to hit theatres! I did like the girl who played Bella, I know some didn't. I thought she did a good job. I really liked seeing the book played out. It makes me want to read the books once again. The other thing I did really like was the music! I loved the soundtrack. So... those who have seen the movie.. tell me what you thought!

Christmas card and Madisyn!

So I just sent away for our Christmas card, thought I would post it already! I ended up not taking any pics for Christmas and just used our fall pic. I think my family gets tired of my crazy obsession with taking pics, so I didn't make them suffer this year and pose for yet another picture! But, I did do madisyn's 6 month pics a couple of months ago, and they turned out quite cute, I think anyways. I'm kind of biased though! I'll post a few. It is about time to do her 9 month and Syd's 2 year. I think I am going to do them in their Christmas dresses though. Sometime soon! We hope everyone is doing well!! have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Such a slacker!

I know I am the biggest slacker, but oh well! I read other peoples blogs daily, but I have a hard time writing daily! Or even weekly! So, here goes our recap of the last 3 weeks.

A few of weeks ago, Brett had conferences in SLC, so we headed up there! My mom watched Sydney and Brevan while we were gone, and even my grandma came up to help out! Brett's parents took them for a few hours one night too. We sure appreciated them, and I was able to get a much needed break from at least 2 of the kids. Madisyn was pretty good while we were up there too, thankfully. The nice thing about having 2 brother-in-laws that are engineers for UDOT too, is that there wives get to come up to conference too, so it wasn't just me. Chelsea, one of my best friends from high school, married Brett's brother. ShaVon is the other sister-in-law. We were able to go up and get a bunch of Christmas shopping done! I had a lot of fun, spent way too much money, but had fun anyways! While up there, we don't really see our husbands, except for maybe a couple hours at night. Their meetings go all day, and we did join them for dinner this year both nights, so that was nice too.

The kids had fun here with grandma and grandpa and uncle Jarad. When we went to get them, Brevan didn't want to come home, and Sydney didn't even want to give me a hug. She was being such a tease! I would go to take her from grandma, and she would look at me, then turn and hug grandma and give her a kiss. Then she would look at me again, and I would say, "come here and give me a kiss." She would look at grandma again and give here a kiss. She did this for quite awhile, and I don't think I ever got a kiss from her! It was quite funny! Sydney isn't a huggy or kissy girl. She doesn't really do that, so it was funny to see her tease me with it!

A couple of weekends ago we painted the playhouse. My parents had some paint that they ended up not using and let us have it. We painted almost the whole thing before we decided we just really didn't like it and would go crazy looking at it. So, we will have to repaint it. But, Brevan had a ball helping us paint it. He loved it and actually did a really good job. He helped paint the whole time I was doing it. Syd just played in the house the whole time, and Madisyn sat in her stroller enjoying being outside. It was a nice day, now we just need to repeat it.
We went to Panguitch this last weekend to the craft fair and had a great time with my grandma and aunt laurie. Uncle Jody brought his grandbaby Chloe up, I don't know how they spell it, and she played with Madisyn! They are about a month apart. We got some cute pics of them together and some fun ones of Chloe that I need to send down to them! Brevan got to play with both Parker and Ryker and he was so excited about that! He loves to play with them and gets really excited when he knows we are going down! Sadly we don't go down often enough! But, he loves it when we do! Here are some cute pics of them all!
Other than that, we haven't really been up to much! Brett is keeping busy at work, and I am busy at home! Madisyn has finally started to really crawl, not just the one stepper anymore! She is quite a happy little girl and we are so grateful to have her in our home! The other 2 keep me busy every day! Sydney plays so well by herself, but get her and Brevan together and they tear each other apart! Syd is a little tease and absolutely loves to tease Brevan. She is so good about it too, I usually end up getting mad a Brevan instead of her! I've got to quit that! But, hopefully one day they will play better together! Brevan is loving school and is doing really well. He likes to play with the kids, and comes home with lots of stories. I am glad he is enjoying it and learning a lot! Well, sorry for the book, but we hope everyone is doing well, and have a Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get on here before then! We are starting to gear up for Black Friday. We have a lot of fun going on the girl's "hunt" as Brett and I call it. Hopefully this year they have some great sales! Anyways... Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween...a day late!

Halloween is such a funny holiday I think! Do you sometimes feel a little embarrassed taking your kids to the door to beg for candy?! You get over it, but it is always in the back of my mind wondering how we came up with this funny holiday. I do enjoy it though! And, I know my kids LOVE it! They had such a blast yesterday. They loved wearing their costumes, and didn't want them off. They loved running to the doors and getting candy! Sydney was hilarious! She would have to have a candy in both hands. If they only gave her one, she would try and reach for more so that she had one in each hand. If they let her pick, she would reach both hands into the bowl! I had to keep telling her, "no, no, Syd, just one!" It was funny though! She loved it! Brevan did too, he couldn't wait to say "Trick or treat", and at times he was almost ready to open the door for the people! It was so funny! He had a lot of fun too! We went over to Glenwood and went with their cousins. They had a lot of fun, and they all looked so cute! Here are some pictures of them in their costumes. Brevan had to be a "green dinosaur!" Sydney was the cutest little elephant, and Madisyn was a darling ladybug! We should of found a bear costume for her because she is always growling, but anyways.. here are some pics!

My dad always dresses up on Halloween and then vists clients and friends. This year he found this headless butler costume hat was pretty cool. the shoulders blew up to the top of his head, then his head was the neck! The shirt came up to his eyes, and then it was a meshy material so he could see! Then he carried around this fake head! He went and borrowed this car so that people wouldn't know who he was! The kids loved it. They weren't sure of him at first, but then they realized it was Grandpa and he was dressed up like them! They of course loved the car too. This pic doesn't do the costume justice, but it was pretty funny!!
We also carved pumkins a few nights ago, here are some pics of those too. The kids wanted nothing to do with digging their hands into the slimy middles! They just watched us from afar, but loved the finished products! Last night we got home, and as Brett and I were getting into bed I asked him if we should bring in the pumpkins. We decided to risk it and leave them out. About 15 minutes later, I hear a big "SMASH!" Well, needless to say, they left our scarecrow and the little one we didn't carve, but they smashed our Frankenstein and took my big pumpkin that we didn't carve so that I could use it for a Thanksgiving decoration. I have a turkey that I put on it! Anyways, Brevan was so upset when he saw it this morning. He started crying and said "Mom, the deer ate our pumpkins!" He had overheard me and ShaVon talking about her pumpkins and the deer that had eaten the faces out of them! It was kind of funny, but then I had to tell him that it wasn't the deer! He was upset after that! He felt so bad that people could be so mean to take his pumpkins. I tried to turn it into a lesson that sometimes we don't like what others do to us, but we need to always be nice and never do that to others. I don't know how well that worked, but hopefully he won't do it to others when he gets older!

Pumpkin Patch!

I love fall, and one of my most favorite things to do is go to the pumpkin patch! I love seeing all the pumpkins, and I don't know how many of you notice, but just the warm colors that surround a pumpkin patch! The sky and everything around it just seems to be "warmer." I don't know what other word to use to describe it, but I love it! To a photographer, they might say "great lighting!" And, I guess it isn't just the pumpkin patch, but just the way fall is! Anyways... so we went this last week and the kids had a ball! They loved running through and trying to find a perfect pumpkin. Sydney was a bit scared, but after a little, she was picking them out too. Brevan loved it and would run from one to another saying, "I want this one, no, this one!" You get the idea! It was so cute. We went with ShaVon, Keldon, Brinley, and little KamBree. KamBree and Madisyn stayed in their carseats on the haywagon! They were so good to just watch and not cry during the time we were out there. Brevan and Sydney both liked the haywagon ride and the train that they pull with a tractor. They had so much fun! I"m glad that we have one close and that the kids are able to have a little fun around this wonderful time of year!
