American Idol and Cinderella

This year I have been somewhat obsessed with American Idol. I haven't really watched the previous seasons, maybe just a show here and there, but this year I think I only missed one or two, and then I recorded them. Wow... long sentence. Anyways, tonight was the finale, I missed the first hour because we went to my nieces dance recital. But, I got back in time for the reveal. Boy was I surprised, but way excited, when Kris won! I don't know why, but I have loved listening to him sing this season. For me, he was the best one there. I liked a few of the songs Adam did, but otherwise I had a hard time listening to him. Maybe it was the tongue... or the scream/yell singing, but I just couldn't get into him! So anyways, the season is over and that is probably a good thing as I will get more done now! I was glad to see Shawn Johnson win last night on Dancing with the Stars too. But, now Bachelorette is on and I am excited to watch that! I have never really been too much into t.v., but it seems like some shows are growing on me after 8:00. That is when the kids go down and I get to relax! Now if only I would do something useful!

But, anyways, we are starting to gear up for State Cinderella Pageant. Sydney does get to go, and so we decided to let her finish it since it was here in Richfield. We weren't going to do it, but then decided if we got a couple of sponsors for her it wouldn't be so bad. So thanks Uncle Dale and Grandma and Grandpa for helping out. She is excited to do it again, and keeps saying, "mommy and Sydney dance." We are guessing that is what she means! I took some pics of her for a couple of days for the photogenic, and this is what we came up with.If you are wondering where my other posts are with pics, not that many will, I now have a photo web site that I update every once in a while. I do have some cute pics over there of a friends 3 month old. So head on over to my photo blog to check those out.

New Lens!!!

I got my new lens today, and I am SOOOOOOOO excited!! I didn't get to play with it much today, but tomorrow I will be having fun!! I was supposed to take some blessing pics today, but I asked her to reschedule until I got the lens. I had my mom pick it up for me in Provo today while she was up there. I usually feel bad that she has to go to meetings, but I'm glad she was up there today. And, Allen's camera pricematched for me, so I was very excited about that too!

I took some pictures outside with the kids tonight; we set up the tramp first. Then while they played, I played too! I couldn't believe the difference. I know you probably can't tell from these pics I'm posting, but I can. The eyes would never pop that much with my other lens! And the bokeh, or the blur, as they call it would never have been as perfect with my other lens! Not so much on the outside shots, but I could tell on the inside ones!! Crazy! I can't wait to put it in real action tomorrow!

So here are some shots I took tonight.Don't you love his eyes! This was taken natural light from southern windows, with no flash!I don't know if you can tell, but her eyes look so blue!! So nice getting the shots with crisp eyes!
Here are some other shots I took of Madisyn the other night and fell in love with! I edited them finally, and wish I would have had this lens, but they still turned out pretty great in my opinion!!This is the b/w version... here is the color, can't decide which I like better. The same with the next photos!I fell in love with this picture! I don't know why, but I just really, really love it! I think I like the b/w pics better. I must be on a kick for those right now! But, I like both, but I especially love the walking b/w with colored flower! What do you think?

She'll poop some more eggs out!

What a crazy couple of weeks! We have been busy working outside and trying to keep up with life! It seems like you never get done what you want, and the things you want to get done just keep adding up!

We had a nice Mother's Day. We went to Annabelle for the first half of the day to the Albrecht's dinner, and then we headed to Brett's house to just visit. The kids loved playing and riding their scooters at the Albrecht's, and then had a blast with the cousins at Brett's house!

We were outside at Brett's house when Brevan saw a bird on the grape vines. Grandpa Errol told him to wait until the bird left again and Brett could take him to see the birds eggs. Brevan was of course excited and waited patiently to go see them. As soon as it flew away, Brett took him over there to see them. When he got back, he looked at us and said, "She'll poop some more eggs out!" We were a little shocked, but what do you say? We all just started laughing. Ever since then, when he sees a bird, he says to me that the mama bird is going to poop some more eggs out later! I don't have anything else to say on that subject!! ;)

Have you seen the pillowcase dresses that have been on the internet lately? They are really adorable, so I decided I would make some for the girls. They are really simple and easy, and above all else.... cheap! Here are a couple of pictures of the girls in them! I just love them. I'm going to do one for the 4th of July too. They each take less than 30 minutes to make, so I love them for that too!!I have been looking for a new lens, a Canon 50 mm 1.4 lens to be exact. I found it on the internet for a fairly good price, with overnight shipping that was less than regular shipping (it was a special). So I ordered it. They had a problem with getting it verified, and by the time that was all taken care of, they had sold out of their lens! It is now backordered! I was so frustrated! I went up north to buy one this weekend, but they were more expensive that I wanted to pay than if I got it on the internet, and that includes shipping. So I didn't buy one! Now I am kicking myself for not just buying it and being done with it. I am taking some pictures tomorrow for a 4 month old and so wanted to use it!! So, if anyone is coming down tomorrow, let me know and I might have you stop and pick me one up! haha!!

Katie and Mike Jorgensen came down this weekend. We had a great time over at Mike's parents house. Mike grilled us some hotdogs, and we had a great dinner and conversation. Then we played Bocce! Brett and I have never played, but we all had a good time. It was so nice to see them and get to hang out without the kids! We used to double date in high school all the time, and we miss hanging out with them! So it was fun to do it again! I hope we can get together a few more times before they leave on Mike's internship!!
