Christmas card and Madisyn!

So I just sent away for our Christmas card, thought I would post it already! I ended up not taking any pics for Christmas and just used our fall pic. I think my family gets tired of my crazy obsession with taking pics, so I didn't make them suffer this year and pose for yet another picture! But, I did do madisyn's 6 month pics a couple of months ago, and they turned out quite cute, I think anyways. I'm kind of biased though! I'll post a few. It is about time to do her 9 month and Syd's 2 year. I think I am going to do them in their Christmas dresses though. Sometime soon! We hope everyone is doing well!! have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Such a slacker!

I know I am the biggest slacker, but oh well! I read other peoples blogs daily, but I have a hard time writing daily! Or even weekly! So, here goes our recap of the last 3 weeks.

A few of weeks ago, Brett had conferences in SLC, so we headed up there! My mom watched Sydney and Brevan while we were gone, and even my grandma came up to help out! Brett's parents took them for a few hours one night too. We sure appreciated them, and I was able to get a much needed break from at least 2 of the kids. Madisyn was pretty good while we were up there too, thankfully. The nice thing about having 2 brother-in-laws that are engineers for UDOT too, is that there wives get to come up to conference too, so it wasn't just me. Chelsea, one of my best friends from high school, married Brett's brother. ShaVon is the other sister-in-law. We were able to go up and get a bunch of Christmas shopping done! I had a lot of fun, spent way too much money, but had fun anyways! While up there, we don't really see our husbands, except for maybe a couple hours at night. Their meetings go all day, and we did join them for dinner this year both nights, so that was nice too.

The kids had fun here with grandma and grandpa and uncle Jarad. When we went to get them, Brevan didn't want to come home, and Sydney didn't even want to give me a hug. She was being such a tease! I would go to take her from grandma, and she would look at me, then turn and hug grandma and give her a kiss. Then she would look at me again, and I would say, "come here and give me a kiss." She would look at grandma again and give here a kiss. She did this for quite awhile, and I don't think I ever got a kiss from her! It was quite funny! Sydney isn't a huggy or kissy girl. She doesn't really do that, so it was funny to see her tease me with it!

A couple of weekends ago we painted the playhouse. My parents had some paint that they ended up not using and let us have it. We painted almost the whole thing before we decided we just really didn't like it and would go crazy looking at it. So, we will have to repaint it. But, Brevan had a ball helping us paint it. He loved it and actually did a really good job. He helped paint the whole time I was doing it. Syd just played in the house the whole time, and Madisyn sat in her stroller enjoying being outside. It was a nice day, now we just need to repeat it.
We went to Panguitch this last weekend to the craft fair and had a great time with my grandma and aunt laurie. Uncle Jody brought his grandbaby Chloe up, I don't know how they spell it, and she played with Madisyn! They are about a month apart. We got some cute pics of them together and some fun ones of Chloe that I need to send down to them! Brevan got to play with both Parker and Ryker and he was so excited about that! He loves to play with them and gets really excited when he knows we are going down! Sadly we don't go down often enough! But, he loves it when we do! Here are some cute pics of them all!
Other than that, we haven't really been up to much! Brett is keeping busy at work, and I am busy at home! Madisyn has finally started to really crawl, not just the one stepper anymore! She is quite a happy little girl and we are so grateful to have her in our home! The other 2 keep me busy every day! Sydney plays so well by herself, but get her and Brevan together and they tear each other apart! Syd is a little tease and absolutely loves to tease Brevan. She is so good about it too, I usually end up getting mad a Brevan instead of her! I've got to quit that! But, hopefully one day they will play better together! Brevan is loving school and is doing really well. He likes to play with the kids, and comes home with lots of stories. I am glad he is enjoying it and learning a lot! Well, sorry for the book, but we hope everyone is doing well, and have a Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get on here before then! We are starting to gear up for Black Friday. We have a lot of fun going on the girl's "hunt" as Brett and I call it. Hopefully this year they have some great sales! Anyways... Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween...a day late!

Halloween is such a funny holiday I think! Do you sometimes feel a little embarrassed taking your kids to the door to beg for candy?! You get over it, but it is always in the back of my mind wondering how we came up with this funny holiday. I do enjoy it though! And, I know my kids LOVE it! They had such a blast yesterday. They loved wearing their costumes, and didn't want them off. They loved running to the doors and getting candy! Sydney was hilarious! She would have to have a candy in both hands. If they only gave her one, she would try and reach for more so that she had one in each hand. If they let her pick, she would reach both hands into the bowl! I had to keep telling her, "no, no, Syd, just one!" It was funny though! She loved it! Brevan did too, he couldn't wait to say "Trick or treat", and at times he was almost ready to open the door for the people! It was so funny! He had a lot of fun too! We went over to Glenwood and went with their cousins. They had a lot of fun, and they all looked so cute! Here are some pictures of them in their costumes. Brevan had to be a "green dinosaur!" Sydney was the cutest little elephant, and Madisyn was a darling ladybug! We should of found a bear costume for her because she is always growling, but anyways.. here are some pics!

My dad always dresses up on Halloween and then vists clients and friends. This year he found this headless butler costume hat was pretty cool. the shoulders blew up to the top of his head, then his head was the neck! The shirt came up to his eyes, and then it was a meshy material so he could see! Then he carried around this fake head! He went and borrowed this car so that people wouldn't know who he was! The kids loved it. They weren't sure of him at first, but then they realized it was Grandpa and he was dressed up like them! They of course loved the car too. This pic doesn't do the costume justice, but it was pretty funny!!
We also carved pumkins a few nights ago, here are some pics of those too. The kids wanted nothing to do with digging their hands into the slimy middles! They just watched us from afar, but loved the finished products! Last night we got home, and as Brett and I were getting into bed I asked him if we should bring in the pumpkins. We decided to risk it and leave them out. About 15 minutes later, I hear a big "SMASH!" Well, needless to say, they left our scarecrow and the little one we didn't carve, but they smashed our Frankenstein and took my big pumpkin that we didn't carve so that I could use it for a Thanksgiving decoration. I have a turkey that I put on it! Anyways, Brevan was so upset when he saw it this morning. He started crying and said "Mom, the deer ate our pumpkins!" He had overheard me and ShaVon talking about her pumpkins and the deer that had eaten the faces out of them! It was kind of funny, but then I had to tell him that it wasn't the deer! He was upset after that! He felt so bad that people could be so mean to take his pumpkins. I tried to turn it into a lesson that sometimes we don't like what others do to us, but we need to always be nice and never do that to others. I don't know how well that worked, but hopefully he won't do it to others when he gets older!
