Happy Birthday Sydney!!!

I can’t believe she is 3.  How time flies!!  Some days will go by and I will think to myself that I can’t wait until she is older so that she can do this or that, do you know what I mean?  Did you understand my run on sentence? But, on days like today, I really wish they would stay little. I wish they didn't have to grow so fast.  And, looking through these pictures just brings tears to your eyes by how fast they grow and change.
Anyways…. Sydney is our little Princess, and she knows it.  Today she was walking around and saying in a sing song voice, “I am the princess, I am the princess.”  She is a little sweetheart with a very tender heart.  She gets her feelings hurt very easily, and you sometimes have to watch how you say things to her.   She is very stubborn though too… you gotta watch out when she is ornery!  She loves us though.  She loves Brevan and follows him all the time.  If Brevan does something, you can bet that Sydney is right there doing it with him.  She loves Madisyn too.  She likes to help her and is always watching out for her.  She loves to dance, watch Princess movies, dress up, play with dolls/Barbies, and read.  She is always making us smile and laugh!  She has one of those laughs that just makes you want to too!
I have a feeling I have already spoiled her… How many little girls get more excited over the clothes than they do the toys?  Well, Sydney did.  When she opened her doll she was excited, but when she opened her clothes, she yelled very excitedly, “NEW CLOTHES!!!”  It was hilarious!  She likes her clothes and her shoes, that is for sure!  Hopefully she will outgrow that a little bit!!
She is our Little Princess though, and we love her so much!  I can’t imagine what our lives would be like without her.
So, here are some pics of our girl....

Catching up…

It seems like it never ends.  I sometimes feel like I am the guy in Groundhog Day.  Do you feel like you are repeating the same thing day after day with just a little tweaking here and there?  I do.  Not that I don’t love my life.  But, sometimes it feels like I get up, make breakfast, play with kids, make lunch, put kids down for nap, do some housework, get on computer, make dinner, put kids to bed, and then repeat the next day.  I think the only thing that keeps me from going absolutely nuts is the fact that my kids are growing so darn fast, and even though they drive me crazy most of the time, I can’t imagine what my life would be like without them in it.  I can’t imagine my life without this crazy daily repeat cycle.
So, the last time I really posted much about the family was the first of October.  Here are a few things we have done since then, in no particular order.  And then maybe I can get some pics up too.
*Elk hunt… Brett and I both had tags for cows and I had one for a spike too.  We didn’t ever see any spikes, but we did get our cows.  And now our freezer is filled to the brim!  That is good, I love not having to buy meat at the grocery store!

These next few are from the deer hunt; we didn't have tags, we just went up to have dinner and let the kids have fun.

*Pumpkin Patch…We went to the pumpkin patch with ShaVon, Keldon, Brinley, and KamBree.  The kids had a blast picking out pumpkins, riding the haywagon, and riding the train!

*Gymnastics… Brevan started a six week gymnastics class at the end of September.  It ended the end of October.  He had such a fun time.  He was really good too!  He learned how to walk on the balance beam, how to get on and off the balance beam, how to do the spider, flip over, and a few other things on the bar.  They learned cartwheels, flips (which he already knew), split somersaults, and backbends.  The did obstacle courses and just had a really good time!  Every week he asked when he got to go back, he loved it so much!

*Madisyn's first haircut... her hair was starting to look like a mullet, well... not starting, it did look like a mullet.  I have a really hard time with that, so I evened it out and I think it looks a lot better!!  Plus, it is growing in a little better now.  We even had to trim it again just a week ago!  She is such a little cutie, and the short hair looks good on her!

*Halloween…Halloween came and went, and the kids had so much fun!  Brevan dressed up like Spiderman with muscles, Sydney had to be Tinkerbell, and Madisyn was an elephant(she didn’t get to pick yet).  They were all so cute, and had so much fun running to the doors to trick or treat!  They rode in a trailer on the back of the 4-wheeler with their cousins until it got too cold.  Then we hopped into the car and headed out that way.  After running up to one house, Keldon got grabbed by a guy in a costume sitting on a chair.  After being scared out of his mind, and laughing like crazy, we headed out again.  But after that the younger kids were too scared and really wouldn’t get out anymore.  So we finished up and headed back to MaeBeth’s house!  They got a ton of candy, and will be munching for months it seems like!

*Engineering Conference…Brett’s annual engineering conference was held the first week in November.  So Brett and I left the kids with my mother and headed up to Salt Lake City for 3 days of shopping and meetings.  Me-shopping, Brett-meetings… I wonder who had more fun?  I got a lot of shopping done, and had fun with Chelsea.  We missed having ShaVon with us, but her and her kids got swine flu right before we left.  Brevan got sick on Tuesday night, and I almost had to go home, but thankfully he started feeling better so I was able to stay up there.
*I Heart Faces Workshop…The next weekend I headed to Dallas for a weekend at the I Heart Faces workshop.  It was a ton of fun, and that was recapped in an earlier post.
*300 short mag…Brett got his new gun and scope.  He was very excited to get one, and couldn’t wait to go shoot it.  That is what we did in Panguitch after Thanksgiving dinner.
*Caramel…I made my first batch of caramel, and ate most of it too!  It tasted so good, I can’t wait to make a second batch!  I didn’t think to take pictures, what was I thinking!?
*Thanksgiving…Thanksgiving was in Panguitch this year, and it was fun too see the cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Davis.  Lunch was so good… we have mashed potatoes covered with homemade chicken noodle soup.  Mmmm… gotta love it, and this time of year is pretty much the only time we get it!
*Black Friday shopping… no words needed. :)
So.. I think that is about it.  Madi is talking like crazy, she repeat so much you really have to watch what you say.  Sydney turns three in less than two weeks, and I can start to see why they call it terrible 3’s too.  She is so much fun, but she is also very whiny!  Hopefully she will grow out of that quickly!  Brevan is learning a lot at school and having fun there.  He is a big help usually here at the house.  He loves his sisters and has taken to sneaking into their room in the morning so he can wake them up and play with them.  Gonna have to break him of that one sometime soon… if only I can figure out how!  Brett has been going down to the Henry mountains for the last couple of weekends.  His hunt starts next weekend, and he is looking forward to it!  He can’t wait to find the buffalo is very excited for this one in a lifetime chance!  I am not doing too much, besides for working on pictures a lot lately!  I hurt my ankle in Dallas, and am still limping around on it.  Yesterday was interesting with that…  But, it is getting better and the bruising is mostly gone now.  There is still a little swelling, but that is getting better too.  Hopefully the pain will be leaving soon too!  So, that is all for now!  We hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!
